Service  Major Harris served with the Army of the Indus, from October to December 38. Served with Brigadier Sheltons Force in Afghanistan, November 40. Served in a Campaign, in January 41, against the Affghan Tribes of Sungoo Khilloun, in the Yalley of Nargeean; near Jellallabad. Served in the Fortress of Ghuznee, June 41. Present in the Fortress at the time it was beseiged by the Affghans, from November 41 to March 42. In February 42 deputed as a hostage with the Affghan Chiefs, for a specific purpose; was a prisoner in the hands of the Affghans, from March till November 42, at Ghuznee, Cabul, and Bamuan. Medal. Served with the Army of the Sutlej, 46. In the capacity of Commissariat Officer at the bridge of boats over the Sutlej, employed in forwarding supplies to the Army at Lahore. Served with Brigadier Wheelers Field Force in Bundlecund, from August to December 59.
