Service  Captain Godby served in the Sutlej Campaign, 45, 46. Present at the action of Alliwal. Medal. Subsequent operations in Jullnnder Doab. Served during the Punjab Campaign. Present at the actions of Ramnuggur, Sadoolapore, and Chillianwallah (wounded dangerously in a hand-to-hand fight, in defence of the Regimental Colors). Medal and Clasp. Wounded, by an assassin in December 53, when in charge of Eusuffzaie Frontier. Served with the Guides on the Peshawur Frontier for four years, and thanked by General Cotton for success in clearing the vicinity of Peshawur of Hill robbers.
