Present at Kohat on the breaking out of the Mutiny in 57, and served throughout the Mutiny on the Frontier. Present at the disarming of the Left Wing, 58th Native Infantry, in June 57. On the Asne Frontier, from May 58 till February 60. From Dehra Ishmael Khan made a forced march to Junk, with a Squadron of 5th Punjab Cavalry, to repulse an attack of the Wuzeerees, and support the outposts, making a distance of 50 miles in one march, and in 12 hours, and bringing the horses up fresh and in good working order. Commanded the Troops at Junk until the expedition of Brigadier-General Chamberlain, assembled there and marched into the Wuzeeree Country. Commanded the Troops in the Goomul Valley in 60, had several slight skirmishes with marauding parties of Wuzeerees, and on several occasions re-took camels and plunder carried away by them. Served on the Bunnoo Frontier as 2nd in Command, 5th Punjab Cavalry. |
