Service  Lieutenant Forsyth served with a Detachment of the 22nd Punjab Infantry, in Seetapore and Mohumdee Districts, in November and December 58. Served with a Detachment of the 17th Punjab Infantry, in February, March, and April 59, on the Rohilcund Frontier. Served with the 17th Punjab Infantry under Brigadier Wheeler, in 59, and commanded two Companies of the Regiment from the 5th December 59 to 1st April 60.
