Present at the relief of the Garrison of Pegu and the subsequent operations against the besieging Force in 1852. Present throughout the operations of the Martaban Column under General Steele. Medal. Accompanied the Force under Captain Hall, which operated against the rebel Rajah of Porahat and the insurgent Poles, in the capacity of Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Singbhoom Division. Present at the capture of Porahat in November, at the defeat of a large .body of the insurgents on the 25th December 1857. Present at theaffair at Mograh in the Colehan on the 14th January 1858. Wounded severely. Directed the operations of the Police Corps under Lieutenant Reeves and the Naval Brigade under Lieutenant Windus, B. N., which ended in the surrender of the ex-Rajah of Porahat in February 1859. Honorably mentioned by the Governor-General in his Minute, published at the close of the disturbances consequent on the mutiny of the Sepoys of the Bengal Army. India, Medal. |
