Service  Lieutenant Beadon served during the Mutinies, 1857-58. Present at the siege of Lueknow. Present at the skirmish at Tigree, near Jounpore, when two of the enemy's guns were captured; at the capture of Azimghur, and subsequent pursuit; at Sanilwar he captured one of the enemy's guns (a 9-pounder) complete. Mentioned by Brigadier Douglas in his Despatch and thanked by Government, 11th May 1858. Engaged with the enemy in the Jugdespore jungles, under General Lugard, May and June 1858. Mentioned in General Lugard's Despatch, 27th. May 1858. Commanded a Squadron of the 3rd Sikh Cavalry under Colonel Walters, to guard the left bank of the Soane, and to co-operate with, the other Columns engaged in the attack on the rebel's position in the Jugdespore jungles. Engaged with the enemy on several occasions. Mentioned in Colonel Walter's Despatch, 30th July 1858. Formed part of the pursuing Cavalry under Sir H. Havelock, on the flight of the rebels from Jugdespore. Present at a sharp engagement at the village of Nonadee. Received the personal congratulations of Sir H. Havelock on the field, and for the five days following accompanied Sir H. Havelock in unceasing pursuit of the rebels, until they were driven across the trunk road to the foot of the Kymon Hills. Employed in watching the ghats on the left side of the Soane, returned with Colonel Walker's Column from Tilloltoo, in pursuit of the rebels, and took part in the conference with the Rebel Chiefs at Jugdespore, 25th November 1858. Medal and Clasp. Served in China in 1860. Present at the taking of the Taku Forts, Chunkeandan, and taking of Pekin. Medal and Clasps.
