Served with the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade under Major-General Wyndham at Cawnpore, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th November 1857. Severely wounded, right leg amputated. Medal. (Received a 1st Class Certificate, Royal School of Musketry, Hythe.)
