Service  Served as Interpreter to HMs 50th Foot, with the Gwalior Army, 1843. Present at Punniar. Bronze Star. Served with the 12th Native Infantry, with the Army of the Sutlej, in 1846. Served as Brigade Major to Punjab Irregular Force, under Brigadier Chamberlain, in an expedition on the Kohat Frontier, in 1855. Present at the affair with the Raabia Khel on that occasion. Mentioned in Brigadier C.'s Despatch. Served as Staff Officer to Punjab Irregular Force, in the expedition to Meeranzaie and the Koorum Valley, from October to December 1856. Served with Nicholson's Force while operating against the Sealkote rebels, from 11th to 21st July 1857, as Assistant Commissioner. Present at the actions of Trimmoo Ghaut on the 12th and 16th July 1857, and commanded in the latter action a Detachment of Punjab Infantry. Medal. Mentioned in General Nicholson'sDespatch.
