This is one of the graveyards for which FIBIS commissioned Mr Rajat Sharma to take photographs and details of all legible headstones. All inscriptions are included wherever they are legible.

Inscription  Sacred to the memory of the undermentioned officers of the First Madras European Regiment who died at or near Kamptee during the time the Corps served in the Nagpore Subsidiary Force Also to Nineteen Serjeants Four Drummers Fourteen Corporals and Three Hundred and Ninety Privates of the Regiment whose remains are interred in the church yard adjoining This tablet is erected by the Officers of the First Madras European Regiment on the occasion of the Corps quitting the station in the year 1840 as a token of their esteem and regard for their deceased brother officers and soldiers
