Summary Remarks  The Honourable Commodore Cornwallis arrived in His Majesty's Ship the Minerva, on the 1st Instant; on the Minerva anchoring, she was saluted by the Fort, which was returned, immediately after which the Swan Sloop lately arrived from England got under weigh, and bore down into the wake of the Commodore's Ship and saluted the Flag, which was also returned; after which Captain Elphinstone went on board the Minerva and put himself under the orders of the Commodore. Yesterday at one o'clock the Honourable Commodore Cornwallis attended by the Captains of His Majesty's Ships Minerva, Ariel, Swan and Atlanta landed here. He came in his barge as far back as the surf where he was received by Mr Boyd, the Master Attendant, into the accommodation boat, and landed under the usual salute, on the beach he was received by Major Gomande, the Town Major, and immediately proceeded to the Government House.
