| Surname | Mayo | | Rank | Captain | | Occupation or Status | Commander of Ship | | Location | Calcutta | | Summary Remarks | The report mentioned in our last of a vessel having been seen floating on her beam ends is but too true, Captain Mayo of the Liverpool bound for Calcutta saw her on his passage up to that port, she was floating deep in the water. On his reaching her he found ... lascars in a wretched and apparently hopeless situation. With difficulty he got them all on board and conveyed them to Calcutta. They informed him that she was a snow of 200 tons with timber bound from Pegue to Bengal and commanded by a Dutchman. She overset in a squall and the Captain and officers abandoned her and took the only boat they had with as many men as they could carry, hoping to make landfall on the Andaman's. | | Article Type | News Article | | Issue Number | Vol. VIII, No. 334 | | Issue Day | 1 | | Issue Month | March | | Issue Year | 1792 |
