Summary Remarks  On the morning of the 10th instant, Captain Tate in a vessel bound from Calcutta to this port saw a large column of smoke rising from the surface of the water, he sailed towards it but in a few hours all had disappeared. There was no sign of the vessel or her crew, all of which it is supposed had perished.
