Inscription  Thy will be done. Sacred to the loved memory of James, the 4th son of the late Duncan Lamond, Esqre, born at Oban Argyleshire, Scotland on the 14th Septr. 1835, died at Ootacamund on the 9th Oct.1891, aged 56 years and 26 days. Leaving a wife and 7 children to mourn his irreparable loss. A good christian, a loving and devoted husband, a fond and affectionate father. Here lies our beloved one, lamented by us sore, not without hope, no blissful thought, he has only gone before. Sleep on dear loved one take thy rest, thou art free from grief and pain soon shall we meet at Jesus feet, there ne'er to part again.
