Inscription  Sacred to the memory of the late Captain John William Gordon of the 7th Regiment, Bombay Native Infantry and Commandant of the H.H. The Nizam's 3rd Regiment, Light Cavalry, who departed this life on the 23rd July 1839, aged 35 years and 5 months. Erected as a mark of esteem and regard, by many friends in the Bombay and Nizam's services.
