Inscription  Sacred to the memory of Mary ??? Pickering, who departed this life on the 30th of March 18?9. This monument is erected by a bereaved mother as a tribute of affection to the memory of her much loved child. She is not dead for her body will rise in its destined home in paradise in the grave it will make but a transient stay. Thus the seed corrupts to revive and bloom. Thus the worm for a time in its chrysalis tomb prepares for a beauteous display.
