Inscription  Sacred to the memory of Captain J.B. Neufville, 42nd Regt. N.I., Commandant Assam Light Infantry, and Political Agent Upper Assam, who died July 26th 1830, at Jorehath aged 38 years. This tablet has been erected in 1846 by Major James Matthie, late Agent and Assistant to Captain Neufville in testimony of regard for his private character and of respect for his distinguished serviced in this province.
