	Summary Remarks	Thomas Parry purchased a garden house. Known from then until 1837 as Parry's Castle. It was built upon the site of one of the old redoubts of San Thome Fort. The land was acquired from a Colonel Brathwaite, Commander in Chief of the Forces of Fort St George to whom it had been granted by the Company two years earlier.
