The evening of the same day Sir Edward Hughes followed them. The French Fleet consisted of nine ships of the line. By latest accounts at Madras our Fleet had come up with the French and were then engaged off Allamparva. Monsieur Darion Commanded the French Fleet, but died on the 6th off Pulicat, and the Command devolved to Monsieur Suffrain.
