Colonel Sirdar Sir Michael Filose , K.S.S., K.C.I.E., Born at Lashkar 18th April 1836, died at Lashkar 5th February 1925, youngest son of Major Julien and grandson of Colonel John Baptist Filose. Served under three Mahrajas. Commissioned Captain at the age of 2 1/2 years by H.H. Jinkooji Rao Scindia. Designed and Constructed the Jai Villas Palace and was Sursubah of Malwa in H.H. Jyaji Rao Scindia's reign. Knighted by his Holiness Pope Pius IX in 1874. During the reign of H.H. Madho Rao Scindia he was Chief Secretay of State and was knighted by H.M. The King Emperor at Delhi in 1911. Greatly honoured and respected for his many virtues his love of his neighbour, his bounteous charity , his faithfulness to duty, and his devotion to God.
