Entry  Lately, at Cardigan, after a painful illness, the Rev. J Blackwell, A.B., of Jesus College, Oxford, and Rector of Manordivy, Pembrokeshire. His literary attainments were great and his poetical compositions truly sublime and beautiful. His translation into Welsh of Pope's Messia, and other English pieces, evinced a spirit of the first-rate bardic order, and his elegy on the death of Dr. Heber, the late Bishop of Calcutta, is a lofty strain of Welsh poetry, and requires only to be read to be admired and appreciated.
