CommentWANT A PHOTOGRAPH OF ONE OF THESE HEADSTONES?

This is one of the graveyards for which FIBIS commissioned Mr Rajat Sharma to take photographs and details of all legible headstones. All inscriptions are included wherever they are legible.

Inscription  To the beloved Memory of David Bernard Kennedy Young, Lieutenant Royal Engineers, of Paignton Devon, who died at Roorkee, February 13th 1928, aged 22 years, and of his father Lt. Col. David Coley Young, killed at Neuve Chappelle, on March 12th 1915 while commanding his Battalion the 1st/4th P.W.O. Gurkha Rifles. ""He scarce had need to doff his pride, or slough the dross of earth, even as he trod that day to God, so walked he from his birth in simpleness and gentleness and honoured and clean mirth. They rise to their feet as He passes by, gentlemen unafraid"".
