Bainbridge, Esq., who erected this Monument to her memory, (and to the memory of their infant son, Charles Gabriel Frederick, who was buried near this spot). She was a good and pious Christian, a faithful and affectionate wife, a fond and tender mother, sincere and zealous in her friendship, benevolent to all; in worldly affairs, prudent and experienced; gentle, peaceful and affable; to her own reputation and the characters of others she ever entertained the strictest regard; her loss is deeply lamented by a disconsolate husband and sorrowing friends. She was born at St. Helena, the 15th Feb. 1771, married at Ft. St. George the 19th February 1798; died the 2d March 1814 |
