Inscription  Sacred to the Memory of Tredway Clarke, Esq., of the Bengal Civil Service, eldest son of Major Genl. Tredway Clarke, of the Madras Artillery, who departed this life on the 13th Sept. 1823, aged 25 years, 4 months and 20 days. A man eminently conspicuous for the intgrity of his principles, the soundness of his heart, and the propriety of his conduct as a husband, father and a friend. Most sincerely lamented by his relatives and numerous friends. Also Tredway Sydenham, his infant son, Obit. 20th November 1823, Aetat 9 months and 20 days.
