Afflictions so long time he bore, Physicians strove in vain, Till God did please that death should come, And ease him of his pain, This Tablet is placed by his sfflicted widow as a Memorial of that goodness of heart, benevolence of disposition, and amiability of temper which endeared him to all his relations and secured to him the affection of a large circle of friends. ""There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest"" - Job iii. 17. |
