Surname  Thomson

Place  Shikarpore
Year  1839
Month  April
Entry  THOMSON We regret to announce the sudden death of Lieutenant Colonel J Thomson, 31st Native Infantry, whilst in command of a party escorting treasure for the advance army. It appears from a letter, dated Camp Wuggun, two marches from Shikarpore, April 21st, 1839, that he died of apoplexy, brought on by the intense heat. We have seldom had to commiserate the fate of an officer whose gentlemanly qualities, and kind and amiable disposition had endeared him to all who knew or served under him Delhi Gazette, May 8th.
