Inscription  To the Memory of Charles Hay, Lieut., Royal Engineers, who died in Trincomalee on the 27t Augt., A.D. 1823, of fever which attacked him when employed in the arduous duty of tracing through the country lying 30 or 40 miles distant from Trincomalee the line of high road from thence to Colombo.
