Register Entry  On active service on Feb 8th at No. 79 General Hospital Taranto Italy of Broncho-Pneumonia following Influenza. Captain Edmund Sturge aged 23, 10th Middlesex (Territoria Force) and attached 3rd Indian (Lahore) Divisional Signal Company younger son of Maria and Henry H Sturge M.R.C.S 81 Elgin Avenue London W., and ""Highfield"" Penn. Bucks. On his way home after serving continuously through the campaigns in Mesopotamia and Palestine. ""The Beloved Captain"" Hush! Yes I know He was young and strong and fair i' the face And you loved him so. Hush! Yes 'tis true. He died that life may grow i' the race Let it comfort you.
