Inscription  Sacred to the memory of George Wombwell Lieutenant, the King's Royal Rifles, eldest son of Sir Goerge & Lady Julia Wombwell of Newburgh Priory Yorkshire, died of typhoid fever, 18th January 1829, aged 3 years. Erected by his brother officers of the 4th Battalion. ""The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. ... blessed be the name of the Lord.""
