Inscription  To the memory of William Boyle Chavasse MRCSE Assistant Surgeon 2nd European Bengal Fusiliers H E I Co's Service son of Dr G A Chavasse of Smethwick Biringham who died at Meerut on the 2nd November 1857 from disease of the heart greatly accelerated from excessive fatigue during the whole of the siege of Delhi. He was an accomplished surgeon, conversant in the Arts and Sciences: a man of the strictest honour, integrity and veracity. Also a sincere and good christina and deservedly beloved by his regiment.    
Remarks  Tablet commemorating the raising of boundary wall, etc.
