Register Entry  On the 20th December suddenly at St Maur Ventnor Isle of Wight R V Malden Col Bombay Staff Corps aged 75 late Commandant 1st Sind Horse formerly 19th BNI. Joined 19th Bombay Native Infantry as Ensign in 1857, made Lieut in 1859. Bombay Staff Corps, 1863 Captain, 1869 Major, 1877 Lieutenant-Colonel 1883, full Colonel 1887. Indian Mutiny 1858-59, present at Battle of Rajghur. Actions at Mungrowlee, Sindwaho and Kurai (medal and clasp), Abyssinian Expedition 1867-8, operations before Magdala (medal), Afghan War 1879 (medal). Received the thanks of the Government for services in connection with the Afghan War 1880, when officiating as Superintendent of the Upper Sind Frontier.
