He entered the service in the year 1781, and was engaged in most of Lord Lake's Campaigns, and died, having completed a period of service of 50 years of unblemished reputation and acknowledged zeal and integrity; esteemed and respected for his talents, and beloved for his private worth and benevolent dispositions. |
