Inscription  Major William Hiatt, late Secretary to Government in the Military Department, died the 15th June 1825, aged 44 years. This Monument is erected by some of his oldest and most intimate friends in testimony of the sincere respect and esteem entertained by them for his character in public and private life, as an officer and a gentleman.
