Detail  [At the residence of his son Rear Admiral W.F. Martin, Superintendent of the Portsmouth Dockyard, in his 82nd year. Born at Ashtead House, Surrey, in 1773, 3rd son of Sir Henry Martin, Bt., Comptroller of the Navy & MP, by Elizabeth, dau. of Harding Parker, of Kilbrook, co. Cork, esq., and widow of St Leger Haward Gillman of Gilmanville, co. Cork, esq. Became Lieut. 1790. Married Catharine, dau. of Capt. Robert Fanshaw, R.N., Resident Commissioner of Plymouth Dockyard. 3 sons & 3 daus. including ""his youngest son, Lieut.-Colonel Robert Fanshawe Martin, Deputy Adjutant-General of the Queen's Forces at Bombay, died at Poonah on the 13th of July, 1846.""]
