Adjutant-general to HM forces in India and aide-de-camp to the Queen. 4th and youngest son of Jacob Mountain, 1st Bishop of Quebec, by Elizabeth Mildred Wall Kentish, coheiress of Bardfield Hall, Essex. He was born at Quebec, 4 Feb. 1797. Excellent linguist. ""Went out to India as Military Secretary to Sir Colin Halkett.""Commanded a brigade at Chillianwallah. Died of fever. Twice married, 1st to Jean , dau. of Thomas Lewis O'Beirne, Bishop of Meath, 2nd to Annie, elder dau. of Col. Dundas, of Carron Hall, Falkirk]
