Detail  [At the residence of his son Hugh Hope, esq. in Gloucester Terrace, Hyde Park, in his 73rd year. The 11th Baronet, of Craig Hall, Fife and of Pinkie House in the county of Edinburgh. Born at Pinkie House 13 April 1781, the eldest son of Sir Archibald Hope, the 9th Baronet by his second wife Elizabeth, dau. of John Patoun esq. of Inveresk. He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his half-brother Sir Thomas Hope on 26 June 1801. Married 17 June 1805 Anne, youngest dau. of Sir John Wedderburn, Bt. of Balindean by his second wife Alicia Dundas. She survives him. 8 sons & 2 daus., including Hugh, who married in 1848 Catherine, youngest dau. of the late Lieut.-Col. Archibald Spens of Manor House, Inveresk, EIC; James Wedderburn, an officer in the 26th Bombay NI, who died in 1846; and Alexander, Bengal CS]
