Detail  At Pimlico, aged 91, Acheson Maxwell, esq. a faithful friend of the late Earl of Macartney, under whom he held various confidential employments at Madras, in the memorable embassy to China, and in the Cape of Good Hope. He also accompanied his Lordship, in 1795, on a confidential mission to Louis XVIII, then residing at Verona. He then held for some years the Office of an Auditor of Public Accounts, and retired on a pension.
