Detail  In Montagu-sq. aged 70, Major-General Herbert Bowen, C.B. Colonel of the 19th Bengal Infantry. He has seen many years of active service in India, and was present at the capture of Java in 1811, for which he received the silver war medal. In 1838 he was nominated a Companion of the Bath.
