Detail  At Lyme, aged 56, Capt. George Fred. Symes, late of the Madras artillery. His death ensued from concussion of the brain, caused by the brutal attack of a drunken man, whom he had separated from fighting. The coroner's jury returned a verdict of wilful murder against Thomas Garland. Capt. Symes has left a widow and daughter.
