Detail  [Pages 90-91. In Saville Row. 2nd son of Jones Morrson, esq. of Greenfield, co. Clackmannan. Madras cadet, 1799. Secretary to the Madras Board of Ordnance, 1809. Supervised the geographical and statistical survey of Madras, 1811-12. Served as an artillery officer in the Mahratta wars, 1817-18. Became Resident at the Court of Travancore. In 1834 became the first military officer chosen to for a seat in the Supreme Council of India. Returned to England in 1840]
