Detail  At Malta, on his way from India, aged 32, Sir Francis John Ford, Bart. Capt. 20th Bombay N. Inf. He succeeded to the title in 1839; and married in 1846, Cornelia-Maria, eldest dau. of Gen. Sir Ralph Darling. He is succeeded by his brother, Sir William Ford.
