Served as a midshipman in the East Indies. While on the Eden, 26, in 1820 she was actively employed against pirates in the Persian Gulf. In 1843 he was appointed to the Fox, 42, in which he was commodore in the East Indies. Married 12 Aug 1826 Harriet Louisa, youngest dau. of J.M. Bulkeley, esq., 10 surviving children, the eldest of which, now Sir Henry Blackwood, has been appointed Lieut. in HMS Hastings in the East Indies] |
