Detail  [Pages 201-202. At Portsmouth, aged 49. Born 11 June 1801 only son of Vice Admiral the Hon. Sir Henry Blackwood, Bt. by Eliza, dau. of Captain Martin Waghorn, R.N. Entered the navy 1814. Served as a midshipman in the East Indies. While on the Eden, 26, in 1820 she was actively employed against pirates in the Persian Gulf. In 1843 he was appointed to the Fox, 42, in which he was commodore in the East Indies. Married 12 Aug 1826 Harriet Louisa, youngest dau. of J.M. Bulkeley, esq., 10 surviving children, the eldest of which, now Sir Henry Blackwood, has been appointed Lieut. in HMS Hastings in the East Indies]
