Detail  [Within a few miles of the capital of Cashmere whither he was proceeeding on temporary leave. Entered the army in 1822. Commanded the 9th Lancers at Punniar, Sobraon, and Goojerat. Had attained his Lieut.-colonelcy by the death of Lieut.-col. A. Campbell, of whose death he would not have known. Heart problems aggravated by the fatigue in snowy conditions. Buried at the capital on the 29th ""in the garden occupied by Colonel Steinbach, and besides those of the late Captain Morris""]
