Detail  [At Cumming-place, Pentonville. Entered the navy in 1802. Sailed for the East Indies on the Modeste, 36, and was there promoted, in 1808, to be Lieutenant. He was severely wounded in a cutting out attempt by boats at Batavia Roads. He continued to serve in the East Indies, mainly under Capt. Hon. George Elliot, until his return to England where he was paid off in June 1814]
