Detail  At Malta, aged 71, Major-Gen. John Tombs, of the Hon. East India Company's Service, Bengal Cavalry. He was a cadet of 1795, attained the Colonelcy of the 8th Light Cavalry 1829, was appointed Brigadier at Rohilcund 1833, Major-Gen. 1838.
