At the house of his son in law William Page Wood, esq. in Great George St., Westminster, aged 77. Of Great Bealings, Suffolk. A Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk. Appointed a Bombay cadet in May 1782, and sailed for India in September, being under 12 years of age. Arrived Madras May 1783. Was wounded in the battle of Gadjmoor, 29 Dec 1791, which destroyed his elbow joint, and he had to quit India to recover his health. Wrote a history of the campaign, ""Narrative of the operations of Capt. Little's detachment, and of the Mahratta army, commanded by Purseram Bhow, against Tippoo Sultaun" |
