Detail  [Pages 87-92. Aged 71. Nephew of Charles Dibdin, celebrated song writer. He was the son of Charles' elder brother, Thomas, who ""commanded the Eagle gally, a sloop-of-war, in the year 1756, was afterwards a captain on the Indian ocean, and married 2nd, in 1775, at Calcutta, Elizabeth Compton, who gave birth the next year, at the same place, to the subject of this memoir"". Both his parents died in 1780. Married early in life, 2 sons and 1 dau., his elder son died in India in 1827, an officer in the Bengal cavalry. His widow survives him]
