Eldest and sole surviving son of Sir Thomas Burke, the first baronet, by Christian, wife of Edward Browne, of Camus, co. Limerick. He succeeded his father in May 1813. He married in 1812 Elizabeth Mary, eldest dau. of the late Right Hon. John Calcraft, of Rempstone, Dorset, who survives him. 7 children including James Henry Burke, in the Bombay Engineers]
