Also Deputy Lieutenant. 3rd son of Randolph Marriott, esq. of The Leases, Yorkshire, ""formerly a member of the supreme government of Bengal"""" by Elizabeth, 2nd dau. of Dr Christopher Wilson, Bishop of Bristol. He was appoined a cadet in the royal artillery in 1789 but in 1790 ""his father (to serve a younger son) accepted of a cadetship for him to Madras"
