Detail  [Pages 429-430. Officers slain in India. Entered the service in 1823. With the sanction of the Indian government was for some years in the service of the Shah of Persia. Was the minister of Herat until the Spring of 1841, when insults caused him to withdraw the mission to Candahar. Government at once removed him from political employment and returned him to his corps. Bore this insult well. Apparently died on the 21 December, and his wife had died 12 days earlier at Umballah, aged 23. See also May 1846 issue, page 538]
