Detail  [Officers slain in India. Aged 39. Eldest son of the late Rev. W. Broadfoot of London. Lieut. 34th Madras NI, 1826. Distinguished himself in the Affghanistan campaign. Details given on his escorting to Cabool in 1841 the families of Shah Soojah and Zemaun Shah, with Sikh and Goorkha troops, where his own Sikhs opposed him as well as a Sikh battalion waiting for him]
